THE ANSWER: Mont Alto State Park is the oldest state park in Pennsylvania. Its history began with the former Mont Alto Iron Furnace, a blast furnace built in 1807.

In 1996 a small group of railroad enthusiasts recognized the need for a club in the Chambersburg area, thus in April of that year the Cumberland Valley Model Railroad Club was founded. The club derived its name from the Cumberland Valley Railroad whose headquarters were located in Chambersburg from 1836 until its demise in 1919.
Directions Exit 16 from I-81 to Route 30 West turn right onto 5th Avenue travel 1 Block and turn left onto Nelson Street.
Other Club Meetings: The first Thursday of each month starting at 7:30pm. Tuesday, Thursday evenings, Saturday and Sunday mornings are allocated as running/working days. Visitors are always welcome to stop by.
