SolsticeIt’s that time of year again. The 11th Annual Solstice Festival, sponsored by SHAPE (Shippensburg Arts Programming & Education) is scheduled for Saturday, June 18, 2016 from 9 am to 4 pm. As in years past it will be held at the Township Park on 304 Britton Road in Shippensburg, PA. Information about the festival and the application form can be found on our website:

The Festival features fine art, music, good food, children’s art activities and creative outlets for all ages. The festival also emphasizes the importance of environmental sustainability as well as personal health and wellness.

Held annually on the third Saturday in June, SHAPE’s Solstice Arts Festival celebrates the launch of the summer season. According to festival coordinator Michael Shawn Richardson, it’s a time of year that “celebrates the excitement and feeling of relaxation that the beginning of summer inspires in us all!”

As Richardson explains, “the festival originated as an event to ‘celebrate the fine arts and give artists a chance to bring their talents to the public’.”

“The focus of the festival has always been on the fine arts,” Richardson adds. “Each year more artists find their way to this growing festival to display, sell, and demonstrate their art.”

Deadline to apply is May 31, 1216.
