WAYNESBORO: Destination ARTS! – Events – Demos & Activities

March Featured Artist at Gallery 50: Phillip Grove, Grove uses both traditional and contemporary mediums to create his artwork. An opening reception for his collection will be held on Mar. 16th from 5 – 8 p.m.

March Featured Artist at 42 West Arts: Cindy Larsh, Larsh’s paintings are known for their use of vibrant color and loose brush strokes. Her work covers a wide range of interests, including still life, portrait, abstract, and fantasy. An opening reception for her collection will be held on Mar. 23 from 5:30 – 8 p.m.

March Featured Artist at Gallery 35 East: Katie Mosteller, Mosteller’s unique style of photography, ranging from abstracts to landscapes, will be on display during the month of March in the gallery.

Never painted before, no problem. Local artist and retired fine arts teacher, Leslee Cramer, will guide you through the process of creating this beautiful warm, and sunny blue flower painting. March 12th – 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. – Soft Slab Clay Technique Class – Walnut Street Studios

The soft slab technique of hand building with clay will be explored during this class. Use of the Slab Roller will assist in the creation of clay items, which will be glazed and fired. Artists in any discipline welcome! Come and connect with other artists—an enjoyable evening with fun, food, and discussion. Artists have the opportunity to share ideas, discuss art and the newest techniques they have learned, mentor younger artists, and generally inspire one another. All welcome.

Musical performances at Destination ARTS! are supported in part by the Arts for All Partnership, a collaboration between the Foundation for Enhancing Communities and the Cultural Enrichment Fund, and the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, a state agency funded by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the National Endowment for the Arts, a federal agency.

The galleries feature oil paintings, watercolors, pottery, sculptures, jewelry, photographs, furniture, and more. Most art is available for sale and there is no charge for admission to the galleries.

Gallery Hours:
Thursday from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. (Gallery 50 and 42 West ARTS Co-op only)
Friday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.
Saturday from 12:00 to 6:00 p.m.
Sunday from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.
