July 15th is the final round of the A Cappella & Unplugged 2023 competition. Five finalists—Elijah Myers, Paul Minnich, Robert Twine, The RMS Experience, and Marrisa Porter—will take to the steps of the Franklin County Courthouse to perform two songs and vie for the $500 grand prize.

“The Franklin County Visitors Bureau (FCVB) is excited to host the 9th year of A Cappella & Unplugged. With so much powerful talent, the 2023 Finals is going to be amazing,” said Evan Crider, FCVB Tourism Associate and master of ceremonies for the  competition.

Meet the RMS Experience, one of the finalists for this year’s A Cappella & Unplugged 2023 Finals. The RMS Experience is a 3-piece band. Ryan, percussionist, and guitarist, started playing drums at the age of 10, branching out to other instruments through the years. Mike, lead guitarist of the band, grew up around musicians and played different instruments in his younger years. After serving in the military, Mike became more serious about learning music. Stephanie, lead singer of the group, grew up singing in church at a young age and continued to study and became an opera singer. When asked what music means to you, Mike said, “Music gives me focus on a random world.” Ryan and Stephanie both agreed that music is life, and it makes it worth living. Their statements connect with why they chose to compete: to share their love of music with the community.

The RMS Experience and other finalists perform at the Franklin County Courthouse on the square in Chambersburg on July 15th at 7pm. The winner of the competition will be chosen by the public with an in-person ballot and a text-in option.
