DESCRIPTION:Thursday July 17th\, 2025 * 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM\nJoin Penn State Extension for a Farm Safety Day in Franklin County\, a hands-on educational event focused on reducing risks and preventing accidents on the farm.\nThe event will be at the Chambersburg Rod and Gun Club / Franklin County Fairgrounds | 3725 Warm Spring Road\, Chambersburg\, PA.\nDesigned for farm families\, the program will feature a range of engaging presentations and demonstrations that highlight essential safety practices.\nTopics will include pesticide and chemical safety\, tractor and PTO safety\, and proper handling techniques when working with livestock and poultry.\nParticipants will also benefit from sessions on first aid\, managing farm-related stress\, and a live grain bin rescue demonstration conducted by the local fire department.\nThis event offers practical knowledge to help keep farm operations safe and sustainable for everyone involved.\nLunch will be provided during the event.\nPenn State Extension offers this event at no charge\, but organizers ask that attendees register by July 14th\nTo register\, go to https://extension.psu.edu/farm-safety-day or call 1.877.345.0691.\nFor more information\, contact Daniela Roland\, Dairy Extension Educator based in Franklin County\, at 717.809.2194.
