The Shippensburg Festival returns featuring one of the most celebrated and gifted violinists of our time, Sarah Chang, performing Bruch’s triumphant violin concerto followed by the massive 77-piece Shippensburg Festival Orchestra performing Rachmaninoff’s sumptuous Symphonic Dances.
The action-packed adventure pits man against prehistoric predators in the ultimate battle for survival. Featuring visually stunning imagery and groundbreaking special effects, this epic film is sheer movie magic 65 million years in the making. Now audiences can experience Jurassic Park as never before: projected in HD with a full symphony orchestra performing John Williams’ iconic score live to picture.
The festival culminates with an exceptional evening to remember when the Shippensburg Festival Orchestra is joined by “Broadway Lovers” Metropolitan Opera Tenor Richard Troxell and the beloved Broadway star Melissa Errico. Her interest in promoting the cultural arts and her love of classical music led her to serve as a board member of the Festival Chamber Orchestra Association for many years and establish an endowed fund to benefit the Shippensburg University Festival Orchestra summer concert series to bring world-class musicians and programming to the H. Ric Luhrs Performing Arts Center.
