Storywalk Sundays, August – The Institute, Waynesboro

Our series of StoryWalk® Sunday adventures for kids continues in August.
The story posted on the StoryWalk® trail at Pine Hill Park will change monthly, and plans call for a special event to accompany each one on the second Sunday of each month.
This month’s StoryWalk® Sunday is the perfect way to enjoy the summer—what could be more fun than a summer adventure on the water?
Kids will join a guided walk along the story trail as they read the book, then make a special craft project to take home.
The featured storybook for August is “Down to the Sea with Mr. Magee,” by Chris Van Dusen.
“With enough lunch for three, Mr. Magee and his dog Dee head out to the sea.
But what begins as a fun day in the sun turns a bit bumpy when one playful whale decides to say hello.
Soon the crew that once was floating finds themselves flying!
How will they get down? Who will come to their rescue?
And when will they ever get to eat lunch?
Down to the Sea with Mr. Magee is a great read-aloud, sure to provide fits of giggles.”
The event is FREE, but pre-registration is required by August 10.
