The Middleburg/Mason-Dixon Line Historical Society, Guest speaker Fanny Crawford

The Middleburg/Mason-Dixon Line Historical Society will meet at the State Line Ruritan Building, 15481 Park Drive, located off Route 11 at the State Line, PA Community Park.
Guest speaker Fanny Crawford from Hagerstown, MD.
Fanny is a storyteller of historical narratives, world folk tales, original stories, and tall tales.
She is a member of the West Virginia Storytelling Guild, Antietam Storytellers Guild, and National Association of Black Storytellers.
The program will be “T.H. Barnes Tells a Few New Stories.”
Fanny portrays her great-grandfather, T.H. Barnes, sharing stories from his autobiographical manuscript.
She will share T.H. Barnes’ childhood memories from his early life, anecdotes of his mother’s family of hardy Pennsylvania farmers, both black and white, and the story of his father who escaped enslavement in Hagerstown, circa 1835.
Copies of T.H. Barnes’ historic manuscript will also be available.  The public is invited, free.
