On Sunday, July 12, 1 PM to 4 PM, step back in time with Renfrew Museum and try your hand at Scherenschnitte–a centuries-old scissoring tradition, brought to America as early as the 1700’s. German immigrants continued this art in the New World. Pennsylvania Germans used it as a medium for valentines, marriage and birth records, and love letters. Learn the basics of this beautiful craft with instructor Bill Hammann as you cut your own delicate images turning plain, ordinary paper into a historically-inspired work of art.
