Mozart: Requiem
The Shippensburg University Community Orchestra and Concert Choir come together to present one of the greatest masterpieces of the classical era, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Requiem.
Mozart’s Requiem compels with its rich palette of musical flavors, from the plaintive “Lacrimosa” to the forceful “Dies Irae” – a musical treat for the Shippensburg community!
The concert will be conducted by Dr. Mark Hartman and the choir will be directed by Dr. Elizabeth Lins Shoenfelt.
Featured soloists include Elizabeth Shoenfelt, soprano, Leah Kaye Serr, contralto, Christyan Seay, tenor, and James Martin, bass.
Admission to the concert is free of charge.

BLACK VIOLIN: Impossible Tour at Luhrs Performing Arts Center

This Grammy®-nominated band is led by classically trained string players Wil B. (viola) and Kev Marcus (violin).
Joining them onstage are DJ SPS and drummer Nat Stokes.
The band uses their unique blend of classical and hip-hop music to overcome stereotypes while encouraging people of all ages, races, and economic backgrounds to join together to break down cultural barriers.
Black Violin has recently joined with Turnaround Arts, alongside artists such as Yo-Yo Ma and Elton John to bring arts education to struggling schools in underserved communities.
Turnaround Arts is a program of the John F. Kennedy Center for Performing Arts founded by President Obama’s Committee on the Arts and the Humanities.
The group has collaborated creatively with artists such as Kanye West, Aerosmith, Tom Petty, Wu-Tang Clan, Wyclef Jean and Alicia Keys.
In addition, Black Violin has composed for Pitch, a major FOX Television original, and has been featured by ESPN as the official artist of the 2017 US Open (tennis) and 2016 & 2017 Heisman Trophy Award ceremonies.
Black Violin has been featured on The Tonight Show, Ellen, The Wendy William’s Show, NPR, and many other national programs.

THOMAS PANDOLFI is one of only three performers in WCCA history ever invited to a make a third appearance.
Classical pianist and Steinway artist making a departure from previous performances, as he offers “American Pop Piano.”
This is Pandolfi as you have never heard him, from the “Star Spangled Banner” to “Rhapsody in Blue” to his own arrangements of music from Marvin Hamlisch, Burt Bacharach, and Barry Manilow, including a fantasy on popular American melodies like “God Bless America” and “He’s Got the Whole World in His Hands.”
