Want an easy and local way to enjoy a day of art? Mark your calendar because on Saturday, December 3, and Sunday, December 4, 11 AM to 3 PM. Eleven artists will be showing and selling their work in Penn National at six different home studio locations. Participating artists are, Jean Frey, Linda Gottfried, Steve Jaczun, Jack Kier, Carol Labashosky, and Pierre Mion (represented by his wife, Sandra). Guest artists at various locations include: Cindy Baker, Janette Koons, Felicity Sidwell, Mary Grassell and Deb Slocum.

Here’s what to expect:
• Meet the artists, learn about their process and experience their individual studios.
• Spend as much time as you like in each studio, and enjoy a day of original artwork created by local artists.
• Explore artists’ studios in any order, and keep track so you see all the participating artists in Penn National.
• Light refreshments are provided at some studios(depending on space).
• Not all artists accept credit cards, so be prepared to pay with cash or check.
• Studios are in the artist’s home and are not usually open to the public. Most studios are not handicapped accessible.
• Restroom facilities will be made available at the PennNational Club House

Renfrew Museum and Park will host its annual Christmas on the Farm holiday event on December 4, 5, and 6, 2020. Renfrew invites visitors to “Walk Back in Time” through over 200 years of tradition on its historic Pennsylvania German farmstead and rediscover the simple joys of Christmas Past with a safe, family-friendly experience this holiday season!

Follow the soft glow of flickering lanterns and the fiery blaze of torches to the beautifully decorated Museum House to encounter how treasured traditions evolved over the centuries. Explore some of our historic outbuildings where period-attired interpreters will share even more holiday cheer! Enjoy a cozy warming circle while waiting to take a horse-drawn wagon ride down Fahnestock Lane or enjoy a goodie or warm beverage from one of our vendors.             Guests can also step out of the chill into the festive atmosphere inside our Visitors Center where even more family fun awaits. Peruse the gallery, then browse Renfrew’s museum shop and Christkindlmarkt for that special gift. Admission also includes live music, historically-inspired crafts, and more!

Guests are asked to please observe and respect COVID-19 safety and gathering restrictions in effect at time of event. Masks are required inside Renfrew’s buildings at all times and outdoors when a minimum distance of 6′-0″ cannot be maintained. This event will be held rain or shine, and is designed to be indoor-outdoor with limited occupancy permitted within buildings. There’s plenty of room to spread out at multiple locations on the farmstead and maintain physical distancing. Guests are encouraged to stagger their arrival and may enter at any point during the scheduled event time on their chosen date. A period of about two hours is recommended to fully enjoy all planned activities. Sanitizing stations will be provided by Renewal By Andersen Central PA.

Christmas on the Farm is scheduled for three days only: Friday, December 4 from 5:30pm to 8:30pm; Saturday, December 5 from 3:30pm to 8:30pm; and Sunday, December 6 from 1:00pm to 5:00pm. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for youth ages 3 to 12, and free for children ages 2 and under. Friends of Renfrew Museum and Park Members are also admitted free. Main Street, Waynesboro during regular business hours, Monday-Friday, from 9:00am to 4:00pm. Admission may also be purchased on site at two “Welcome Tent” locations at the east and west ends of the park.

Franklin County Visitors Bureau (FCVB) is excited to bring holiday cheer to a challenging 2020.  A COVID-friendly Festival of Trees is ready to spread smiles while raising funds to support cancer services of WellSpan Health in Franklin County PA.

Decorated trees and wreaths will be displayed in the elegant lobby of the 11/30 Visitors Center, formerly the National Bank of Chambersburg. 2020 decorators include:  OSI, Renfrew Museum & Park, Franklin County Certified Tourism Ambassadors, Shabby Chic Farmhouse Boutique, Chris’s Thrift, Chambersburg Quilt Guild, Oasis of Love Church, WellSpan Health, RE/MAX Prestige – Amanda Ridgway, Sellers Funeral Home, YMCA, F&M Trust, Phab Photos, Greencastle Chamber of Commerce, A Matter of Taste & Formosa Family, Totem Pole Playhouse and Conococheague Audubon Society.

Visitors can vote for their favorite tree or wreath as well as participate in the silent auction. Details here. The 2019 Festival of Trees, the first hosted by the Franklin County Visitors Bureau at the 11/30 Visitors Center, raised $2000 for WellSpan cancer services.

In addition to beautifully decorate trees and wreaths, enjoy a holiday train display, courtesy of Cumberland Valley Model Railroad Club, Santa’s Workshop, and a Victorian village. Special appearances by Santa on opening night, Friday, November 20, Small Business Saturday, November 28, and closing night, Friday, December 4. Take socially distanced photos with Santa! Since the 11/30 Visitors Center used to be a bank, and the teller line is still intact, Santa will be safely tucked behind the teller line more than 6-feet away from the closest visitors.

Franklin County Visitors Bureau is excited to bring holiday cheer after such a challenging year Join in the holiday spirit at the 2020 Festival of Trees, held in the 11/30 Visitors Center–the former 1865 National Bank of Chambersburg on the square. The festival opens at 4 PM on November 20. Come see beautifully decorated trees and wreaths. Enjoy a holiday train display, courtesy of Cumberland Valley Model Railroad Club, Santa’s Workshop and a Victorian village scene.

Visitors can vote for their favorite tree or wreath as well as participate in the silent auction to take home a tree or wreath.  Funds raised will support cancer initiatives of WellSpan Health in Franklin County.

  • Monday, November 23 thru November 25 – 8 AM – 4:30 PM

Trees and wreaths are being decorated by local businesses and organizations.

Admission to the festival is free. Visitors may voter for their favorite tree or wreath by purchasing four ballots for $1. Silent auction bids can be placed in person, via phone at 866-646-8060 or by emailing fcvbfestivaloftrees@gmail.com. Silent auction amounts will be displayed in the Visitors Center and online. Current bid amounts will be updated online daily at www.explorefranklincountypa.com.  Final votes for favorites and final bids for the silent auction will close at 7:30 PM on December 4 with winners being announced at 8 PM.
