Join us as our community celebrates the Fall season with an array of family friendly activities throughout the day…
LIVE MUSIC:
Experience food and drink specials at the James Buchanan Restaurant (15 N. Main St) while enjoying live performances in the magnificent courtyard.
Admission to this event is FREE.
Food/drinks may be purchased separately.

Stop by the historic Star Theatre (23 W. Seminary St) for a FREE showing of two classic films featuring the music of Johnny Mercer, a descendant of Mercersburg’s namesake, Hugh Mercer!
Your favorite movie concessions will be available for purchase.

Join us as our organization is turning 77 years old.
For our birthday, we’ll be having tours of the Dr. Alexander Stewart house located at 52 West King Street in historic downtown Shippensburg.
While you’re here, check at our exhibits.
Visit our living history area where we’ll be demonstrating in our summer kitchen at the Ole Crow’s Nest.
Learn about the origins of some of our favorite food that we enjoy today, as we use the techniques of the 18th and 19th century.
We’ll have our blacksmith shop open for visitation too!
Or maybe you’ll want to participate in a family game in our backyard.
Learn about some of the games that were played for the last three centuries from 1700s tavern games to 1800s cricket, and 1900s croquet.
This day is filled with lots of fun and something for everyone!
This event is free, but donations are strongly encouraged.

Follow the soft glow of flickering lanterns and fiery blaze of torches to the beautifully decorated Museum House where you’ll encounter how treasured holiday traditions in American evolved over the centuries.
Explore some of our historic outbuildings where period-attired interpreters will share even more holiday cheer!
Enjoy a cozy warming circle while you wait to take a horse-drawn wagon ride down Fahnestock Lane or enjoy a goodie or warm beverage from one of our vendors.
Step out of the chill in to the festive atmosphere inside our Visitors Center where even more family fun awaits.
Peruse our gallery, then browse Renfrew’s museum shop and Christkindlmarkt for that special gift.
