WHEN AND WHERE: Thursday evening classroom sessions will be on March 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd (snow makeup date if needed, March 30th) from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM at the Franklin County Ag Heritage Building, located at 185 Franklin Farm Lane, Chambersburg, PA 17202.
There will also be a Saturday field day, date and location to be determined, for hands on, in the hive experience.
COURSE SUBJECTS:
Week 1 – Honey bees. Week 2 – Woodenware, beekeeping tools and equipment. Week 3 – Buying Bees, Hive and Colony Management (placement and yard work) and Maintenance. Week 4 – Recognizing, treating and preventing Pests, Maladies and Diseases.
COST: $65.00 for individuals and/up to an immediate family total of 5 by February 27th, 2023.
Registration and payment is required by February 27th and is limited to the first 50 who register.
Each Registration includes a beekeeping book, continued 1st year support, education and first year membership in the Franklin County Beekeepers’ Association including all continued education, workshops and events.
