Researching House Histories Workshop, Franklin County Historical Society

The Franklin County Historical Society is excited to announce a new workshop, “Researching Franklin County House Histories: Examining Records to Help Determine the History of a House.”
Sponsored by FCHS and the Franklin County Visitors Bureau (FCVB), the workshop will take place at FCVB, 15 South Main Street, Chambersburg.
The workshop will analyze different types of records, resources, and structural elements that can help date old houses.
Presenters are Pam Anderson, certified genealogist and owner of Anderson CoGen, Heather Wade, Franklin County Archivist, and Kara Shindle, Franklin County GIS Director.
The cost of the workshop is $45.00 per person and includes lunch.

Bungalow Cottage House – Teens & Tweens

Welcome back everyone!!
Let’s start off with a blast
Teens and Tweens, ages 9 – 14 are invited to create this cool pottery house. Each student will use a template to create the house on a sheet of clay and then take it from there to create that “one of a kind” bungalow cottage.
Instructor Mary Ashe-Mahr will guide students every step of the way.
We are in compliance with the CDC’s recommendations and we will practice the appropriate social distancing measures
Parking is available on the street or in the Lutheran Church’s parking lot, which is located a block further on the left-hand side.
