Due to popular demand, we have added more sessions of our Winter Family Hike.
For this February 21st, hike, families are welcome but children must be age 5 or older.
Hike with us along a portion of the legendary Appalachian Trail! We are fortunate to live in an area that the Trail crosses through in several nearby locations.
Led by an Institute naturalist, the hike will explore some of the wonders to be found in the woods and along the byways.
Rendezvous point for the hike and more details coming soon. Make sure to dress warmly for the weather.
This event is FREE (donations accepted). Enrollment is limited to 10 due to current group restrictions, and pre-registration is required; register via email at info@NatureAndCultureInstitute.org Note: Children must be age 10 or older for this Feb. 7 Family Hike.
COVID-19 safety protocols will be followed. Signed waivers required for registration.
• Participants will sign in & complete a waiver/contact form (available HERE). If you can, please print, sign and scan it back to us at info@natureandcultureinstitute.org (preferred), or print the form, fill it out and bring it along to the event.
• Social distancing must be practiced wherever possible.
• Mask optional on the trail while appropriately distanced, & required when appropriate distancing is not possible.

Mister Ed’s Elephant Museum – Sunday November 29th * 12:00 PM – 3:00 PM
During the outdoor event, children can meet Santa, standing next to him to chat about their Christmas list rather than sitting on his lap. Santa will be in front of a photo backdrop, so families are encouraged to bring their own cameras.
Children can also decorate a wooden ornament for their tree.
Register children for one of three timeslots: noon-1:00 PM; 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM; and 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM. Registration is available here
Due to the ongoing pandemic, physical distancing will be enforced, and masks are required. No one may enter the event area without a mask.
This is a class in the studio, a MASK is required except while you are eating. Social distancing will be practiced.
What a beautiful Sunflower painting in a red glass vase. Join me for the day to paint this Kathie George original design which is 14 x 18 inches in size. It is painted with watercolor and wax on rice paper. You will be so thrilled with your finished result.
Brushes, supplies, and paint will be provided. Some prep work is required prior to class. Seating is limited so register soon!
This is a FULL day and it will take every minute to complete this beautiful painting. You will need to bring your lunch to eat while we are working, no time for a lunch break.
