Winter EXPLORE! Nature’s Valentines, The Institute

In addition to listening to a nature storybook, Love Matters Most, by Mij Kelly and Gerry Turley, students will learn some fun facts about bears, go on a ‘heart hike’ (searching for hearts in nature), and look for animals’ winter homes.
If there is snow, children will make a snow cake and decorate it with items found in nature.

Location:Pine Hill Recreation Area
COVID protocols in accordance with CDC and PA DOH guidelines will be followed.
Masks are not required for outdoor activities, but are recommended when appropriate distancing (3 feet) is not possible.

It’s become a Capitol Theatre tradition to show this wonderful, tune-filled, family Christmas movie featuring Danny Kaye, Bing Crosby, Rosemary Clooney, and Vera Ellen, over the past several years.
For many, this 1954 nostalgic and classic Christmas movie event is a staple in December.
Patrons can stay after the 3:00 PM showing or come before the 6:30 PM showing for social mingling, festive holiday treats, adult beverages, and non-alcoholic drinks.

Glistening Snow Landscape, Joyful Arts Studio

This is a class in the studio,  a MASK is required. Social distancing will be practiced.
Beginner’s welcome! Class tuition and supplies: $45
The perfection of a freshly fallen snow. It is so peaceful and quiet. This landscape shows beautiful pines planted on the rolling hills. Lots of glitter has been added to this painting to help us feel the frost.
All supplies, paints, brushes, step by step written instructions and photos will be provided.
