Totem Pole Playhouse, America’s beloved summer theatre located in Caledonia State Park will hold local auditions for the upcoming season on February 21, 2015 at the Majestic Theater in Gettysburg.

 

FAYETTEVILLE, PA (February 21, 2015) – Totem Pole Playhouse, located in Caledonia State Park, has announced local auditions for their upcoming 2015 season to be held on Saturday, February 21st in the rehearsal hall of Gettysburg College’s Majestic Theater, 25 Carlisle Street, Gettysburg, PA.

Totem Pole is seeking two boys, ages 10 to 12 yrs. old, one Caucasian and one African-American, for leading roles in the Tony Award-winning, Civil War musical, Shenandoah. Those interested in auditioning should arrive between 10am and 12pm and be prepared to sing 16 bars of a song which demonstrates their vocal range and abilities, an accompanist will be provided. Those boys auditioning may also be asked to learn and perform a short dance routine and read a scene from show, sides will be available at the auditions. Totem Pole Playhouse’s Producing Artistic Director, Rowan Joseph, is directing the musical. Chad-Alan Carr, Artistic Director of the Gettysburg Community Theatre is choreographing.

Auditions for adults 18 to 50 for roles in Shenandoah and the hit Broadway musical, Grease, will be held from 1pm to 3pm. Those auditioning should prepare 16 bars of a song demonstrating their vocal range and abilities, an accompanist will be provided. Auditionees may also be asked read from the script and dance.

Those who are cast will be paid a small stipend for performances and Equity Membership Candidate (EMC) points are available for both productions.

Shenandoah rehearsals begin June 2nd and the show runs thru July 5th and Grease rehearsals begin July 14th and the show runs thru August 16th.
