2026 Betsy Ross Tea | Franklin County Visitors Bureau, Chambersburg
September 19 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Sunday September 19th, 2026 * 2:00 PM
Franklin County Historical Society is pleased to present tea with a Founding Mother: Betsy Ross
Betsy Ross will be portrayed by a reenactor from Historic Philadelphia:
“Betsy’s story is much more complex than simply being credited with making the first American flag.
Defying her Quaker upbringing, she eloped, made ammunition undercover during the Revolution, ran a business, and raised seven children as a widowed mother.
Topics: 18th Century; Revolutionary War; Religious freedom; and Women’s history.”
The Stitches in Time Barn Quilt Trail includes more than three dozen quilt squares spread throughout Franklin County, PA. Some are inspired by traditional quilt patterns or family designs. Between each square are the many stories of Franklin County.
