Wednesday October 7th * 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM | Homeschool Day: Orienteering
Homeschool and cyberschool families are welcome to join park staff for a homeschool day where learning comes to life outdoors.
Lessons geared towards K-5th.
Dress for the weather and please register each child attending (not yourself).
Registration is required as space is limited.
Become a nature navigator! Students will learn how to find their way using maps, compasses, and landmarks while building confidence in the outdoors.
Meet at amphitheater
Saturday October 10th * 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM | Art in the Park
Come to the park and learn how to paint a landscape with artist Barbara Randall.
Canvas, paints, and brushes are included and are yours to take home.
Artist Barbara Randall will guide you with step-by-step instructions.
You must register ahead of time and pay $35 when you arrive for the event.

Open House * 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM
Come out to Fall Heritage Day at Cowans Gap State Park.

Turn into a wildlife detective by learning how to read animal tracks and signs.
Students will discover how animals leave clues behind that tell the story of their movements.
