Veronica Blather is a sweet little old lady who spends her days quilting and solving murders—most of which, inconveniently, seem to happen wherever she goes.
As a result, she has a hard time finding a place to live.
When her niece, Dr. Lydecker, invites her to stay at a retirement home for elderly quilters, it sounds like the perfect solution… until one of the residents dies after drinking a suspicious batch of punch.
Accident—or murder?
As Veronica investigates, the list of suspects grows: Matilda, the domineering president of the Crazy Quilt Club; Clara, whose compulsive lying makes every statement suspect; and Sarafina, a sharp-tongued skeptic who trusts no one and carries a rifle just in case.
Clues accumulate almost as quickly as the bodies, especially after the arrival of Lieutenant McCoy, whose presence only complicates matters.
With a black widow spider, a drafty old cave, a gold nugget, an ominous phone call, and a violent storm that knocks out the lights, Veronica must unravel the mystery before it’s too late.
Featuring rapid-fire dialogue and escalating twists, this delightfully devious mystery comedy keeps audiences guessing—and laughing—until the very last moment.
