You’re invited to the Spring Street Amphitheater for the two-day Juneteenth celebration recognizing freedom, history and culture.
The 2026 Juneteenth Celebration will take place from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, June 19th, and from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM Saturday, June 20th, at the Spring Street Amphitheater in Chambersburg.

Organizers are planning a weekend filled with speakers, live entertainment, vendors, food trucks, children’s activities and educational opportunities.
On June 19, 1865, Union soldiers arrived in Galveston, Texas, and announced that enslaved African Americans were free, over two years after the signing of the Emancipation Proclamation.
Juneteenth became a federal holiday in 2021 and is celebrated across the United States as a day of remembrance, education, and community reflection.
This event is designed to bring together residents from all backgrounds to learn about the historical significance of Juneteenth and celebrate African American culture and contributions.
Activities include music, community presentations, local vendors and family-friendly attractions.
The Franklin County Visitors Bureau is promoting the celebration as one of the area’s signature summer events and encourages residents and visitors to participate in the festivities.
The event is expected to draw attendees from throughout Franklin County and the surrounding region.
Juneteenth serves not only as a celebration of freedom but also as an opportunity to educate future generations about the nation’s history and the ongoing importance of preserving and sharing that history.
