Join the Franklin County Visitors Bureau at the 11/30 Visitors Center for an afternoon honoring valiant women. Carla Christopher–author, poet, artist, diversity expert, and pastor– is the guest speaker. This is a free event to honor and remember valiant women.
Bring a valiant women. Share a story of a valiant woman. Remember a valiant friend or loved one.

Celebrating Women’s History
From the Revolutionary era to the present, women shaped Franklin County and contributed to the well-being of communities, large and small. Franklin County Visitors Bureau is spotlighting women of Franklin County with this exhibit. Women, such as Margaret Cochran Corbin, Harriet Lane, Dolly Harris, Mary B. Sharpe, Margaret Disert, Emma Nicodemus Geiser, and Zelda Barbour Wynn Valdes were courageous, resourceful, and community minded. They joined generations of daughters, sisters, wives, mothers, and aunts across Franklin County, Pennsylvania, and America striving for a legal voice and civil rights.
March brings Women’s History to the 11/30 Visitors Center with I Am..We Are Valiant– a self-building installation to encourage public participation. Learn about some of the first women of Franklin County, including revolutionary veteran Margaret Cochran Corbin and Franklin County’s first female judge, Carol Van Horn. Snap a selfie in person or join virtually by taking a picture of influential women in your life. Share the words of women, who inspired you.
