Franklin County is celebrating the 250th birthday of the United States of America with a PARADE–the EPIC Franklin County America250PA Parade. It is set for SEPTEMBER 20, 2025 at 1 PM in downtown Chambersburg.

Individuals, civic groups, veterans, businesses, historic organizations, youth groups, non-profits, sports teams, bands and community entries are invited to be part of the SEPTEMBER 20, 2025 EPIC Franklin County America250PA Parade. NO PARTICIPATION OR REGISTRATION FEE! It is totally free. Even better, there are prizes by age, theme, and community.

A Best of Show prize of $250 and a Runner-up prize of $100 will be awarded in Pre-K to 5th Grade, 6th Grade to 8th Grade, 9th Grade to 12th Grade, Adult, and Mixed Ages. 

A Best of Show and Runner-up prizes will also be awarded to Veteran Groups, senior groups, and Historic Groups. As well, a Best of Community and a Runner-Up Community Prize will be awarded. The community groupings will be greater Chambersburg, greater Greencastle, greater Mercersburg, greater Fannettsbrg, greater Shippensburg, and greater Waynesboro. Finally, a Best of Show and Runner-up for entries out-of-Franklin County will be given.
Because 250 years of America is a huge milestone–a memory of a lifetime, we are supporting participation of Franklin County school bands with a stipend of $200. Each Franklin County school band, marching in the parade will receive the stipend.

PARADE ROUTE:

The parade begins at King Street and North Main,

continues onto South Main,

turns left/east on Washington Street,

turns left/north on Second Street,

and disbands on Second Street at Grant Street.

This route is similar to the Chambersburg Christmas Parade route.

Complete the registration form and return to jpollard@explorefranklincountypa.com. Within 7-10 days of receipt, your registration will be confirmed. In September, a reminder with location of parking and time to arrive on September 20 will be provided.
