Guest speaker, Bob O’Connor, an author of historical fiction and non-fiction novels from Charles Town, WV.
The program will be “Men Who Did Not Go to Trial For Their Crimes.”
The trials of John Wilkes Booth and Jefferson Davis are the topics of the first two books in O’Connor’s new series about men who committed crimes but were never tried for them.
All part of our American history!
The witness list for each of these trials is a history lesson of its own.

The Middleburg/Mason-Dixon Line Historical Society will meet at the State Line Ruritan Building, 15481 Park Drive, located off Route 11 at the State Line, PA Community Park.
Guest speaker is Bob O’Connor, an historian from Charles Town, WV and author of historical fiction, non-fiction, and children’s books.
His program is “Mrs. Slater, The Missing Lincoln Conspirator.”
Mrs. Slater, a courier for the Confederate government, carried dispatches between Richmond, VA and Montreal (headquarters of the Confederate Secret Service in early 1865).
She was acquainted with John Wilkes Booth and John Surratt.
When Lincoln was assassinated, she disappeared, along with over $600,000 from the Confederate bank account in Montreal.  Coincidence?
