Identity Poetry Workshop for Teens and Young Adults
For Middle and High School Aged Students
Cost: Free!
How would you describe your identity? Are there specific moments that define you?
Join Laura Jeu for a poetry workshop to write about yourself and create a document that can reflect your past, present, and future.
Using George Ella Lyon’s poem, “Where I’m From,” as a guide, the workshop will reflect on identify through written word.
There will not be a presentation portion and participants will receive feedback with options to include publication through 11/30 Youth Collaborative.
Seating is limited to 20.

Spring EXPLORE! Nature Journaling, The Institute

Spring EXPLORE! Nature Journaling, The Institute

Thursday May 27th * 4:00 PM – 5:00 PM
Grades: K–5
Cost: $5 member, $6 non-member.
Location: Pine Hill Recreation Area
Students will learn how to make their own “cut and fold” nature journal out of paper. They will decorate the cover with their choice of ink stamps and their own drawings.
They will also take a hike to find a special spot to sit in the woods where they can draw or write—or both—in their journals, using colored pencils.
