Allison-Antrim Museum, 365 South Ridge Avenue, Greencastle, PA will host the 12th Annual Afternoon Tea in the Barn on Sunday, May 5 between 1 pm and 4 pm.   Tea will be served in the center two bays of the reconstructed 1860’s barn.  Tables will be set with vintage napkins and china and the servers will be dressed in Civil War attire.  Sweet and savory treats will be served, with gluten-free options, along with AAMI’s signature lavender green tea and several other choices, including decaf and herbal tea.

The cost per person is $5.  Reservations are required, by Friday, May 3, for sittings beginning on the hour at 1 pm, 2 pm, and 3 pm.  Seating fills quickly so make your reservations early by calling 717-597-9325 or by Facebook messaging the museum’s Facebook page.

The special exhibit is “Sweet Memories,” an exhibition of printed hankies from the 1940s, ‘50s, and ‘60s – hankies your mother or grandmother may have had in their dresser drawers.   The collection, a rainbow of colors, is that of the late Phoebe Ann Erb Gallagher, native of Lancaster, PA and well-known textile designer, who lived in Boston.  Bring your hankies with you.
