Splish Slash I was taking a bath getting ready to go to this month’s Clay Day Mystery Workshop on August 4th from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. or from 7:00-9:00 p.m. at the Mont Alto pottery studio located in room 008 of the General Studies building on the Penn State Mont Alto campus.

Your instructor, Carolyn Baker, will guide you step by step through this mystery project for easy understanding, which will be sure to please and delight even the most curious person. Come be inspired and enjoy!

Whatever the project is, it will be made from durable stoneware clay and glazed with glazes that are food, oven and microwave safe. The cost of $35.00 which includes instruction, clay, glazes and firings.

August - CopyLions, Tigers, and Bears, oh my!

Join us to create a slab-back whimsical version of your favorite crazy animal, at our Wild About Animals children’s workshop.

This one of a kind children’s workshop will be held at the Ceramic Arts Center of Waynesboro, 13 South Church Street August 20th, 1:00-3:00 p.m.

During this 2 hour session, Heather Forberger will guide you step by step in how to make your own ceramic animal creation, using a combination of slab and sculpture. Students will have the opportunity to use various decorative applications to make their animal a one-of-a-kind masterpiece.  Each workshop includes all instruction, materials, glaze and firings.

Warmer2 - CopyYou’re invited to join us for the Essential Oil Warmer Corks and Clay Workshop at the Ceramic Arts Center, 13 South Church Street in Waynesboro, PA on August 5th or 18th from 6:00-8:00 p.m. or on the 23rd from 2:00-4:00 p.m. Imagine smelling the beautiful scents your essential oil warmer will create after you light its tealight to warm the essential oils and/or scented wax.

Using the slab handbuilding method, instructor Trudy Gembe-Palughi will guide you through the process of creating your own unique warmer. This project will not only make your home smell good, but it will add a decorative touch too!  Participants will choose from a selection of glazes and decorative additions.

The workshop is $30.00 and includes all materials, glaze and firings Invite your friends for a unique night out on the town. The class size is limited to 10 students. BYOB! Drinks and snacks are encouraged.

Birds of a Feather Flock Together is the theme for the August 4th Workshop being held from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. at the Nicodemus Center for Ceramic Studies Mont Alto pottery studio located in room 008 of the General Studies building on the Penn State Mont Alto campus.

Your instructor,  Carolyn Baker,  will guide you step by step through this project for easy understanding, and creativity. You will create an amazing Bird House Feeder like no other. Come, be inspired and enjoy the opportunity of embracing your inner creativity as you decorate it with all sorts of embellishments!

The birdhouse feeder is made from durable stoneware clay and glazed with glazes that are food, oven and microwave safe. The cost for this workshop is $50.00, which includes instruction, materials, glaze and firings.
