The Summer 2025 rotating exhibition, at Allison-Antrim Museum, 365 South Ridge Ave, Greencastle, PA, is an exhibition of Carl’s Drug Store memorabilia, dating back to the early 20th Century. The items in the exhibition are from the collection of Frank Ervin, former pharmacist at and owner of Carl’s Drug Store. Carl’s Drug Store is the oldest, continuously, operated drug store in the U.S.  Carl’s Drug Store is also the focus of Greencastle-Antrim’s 2025 Old Home Week.

Ervin worked at Carl’s Drug Store following in his father’s footsteps and eventually became the owner of the business.  Among the Dr. Adam Carl family collection is an 1829, framed document with the image of the “young” Dr. Adam Carl.  Drug store items on display include objects that are more than a century old during the time the Carl family owned and operated the drug store beginning in April of 1825 – 200 years ago.

Allison-Antrim Museum is open Tuesday to Friday, noon to 4 pm and on Saturday, 11 am to 1 pm.  There is no admission fee, but donations are greatly appreciated. For more information, visit the website at www.greencastlemuseum.org, or follow us on Facebook at Greencastlemuseum.
