On May 22, Franklin County Visitors Bureau is teaming up with the United Way of Franklin County to celebrate service, community, and connection with the Viva Volunteerism Mixer. Community is common ground for these two Franklin County organizations. The mixer will be held at the Franklin County 11/30 Visitors Center, on the southwest quadrant of Memorial Square, from 4:30 PM to 7:00 PM. The public is invited to celebrate with the people that make so much happen—Volunteers!

United Way of Franklin County recognizes the commitment of people, summing it up with the well-known quote from Margaret Mead:  “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it’s the only thing that ever does.” Communities are built around service and dedication plus the willingness to give back. Opportunities like this, to bring people together, are key to creating the next generation of ideas that propel our community.

Many of Franklin County’s tourism assets are rooted in community and volunteerism is a defining element in Franklin County history, the county’s downtowns, and even the county’s natural assets. Franklin County is a place where people continue to stop, speak, and smile. There is a strong inner sense and a pride in place—qualities at the core of volunteerism.

Join United Way of Franklin County and Franklin County Visitors Bureau at Viva Volunteerism to celebrate volunteers and learn more about opportunities to volunteer in our local communities. Viva Volunteerism is a complimentary, community event. Register here.
