Chambersburg is celebrating freedom, heritage, unity and progress at the Chambersburg 2026 Juneteenth Celebration on Friday, June 19, and Saturday, June 20. Family-friendly and community-oriented events are slated for each day. The two-day event is a cultural celebration to honor the past, celebrate the present, and inspire the future. Friday, June 19

4:00 PM  –  Official reading of the Governor’s Proclamation by Lu Ransom Butler

4:10 PM   – Carly Janifer, mistress of ceremonies, presents The Meaning of Juneteenth.

4:20 PM  –  Carlenda Owens sings The Black National Anthem.  Audience invited to sing.

4:30 PM  –  Marvin Worthy presents a reflection of history, progress, and community impact.

5:00 PM –  Children of NETwork Step Show to celebrate culture, tradition, and youth excellence.

5:15 PM –  Community Celebration with food, fellowship and fun; music by DJ James Butler.

5:30 PM  –  Kyler Davis-Wright musical performance.

5:45 PM  –  A Community Reading by Chanelle Green-Dorwart

6:00 PM  –  Kelani Monismith-Craig, President of Mercersburg Borough Council, is featured speaker.

6:15 PM  –  Author Dr. Raymond E. Janifer, Sr. Book Discussion

7:00 PM  –  Keith Brandon offers a poetry presentation.

7:30 PM  –  Hands for Humanity, facilitated by Rebecca Burris, to support community unity, hope, and healing.

Saturday, June 20

10:00 AM  –  Philip Michael Whitley, professional hula hooper, will share his love of hula hooping and offer some lessons’

11:00 AM –  Tsunami and Whitehead

12:00 PM  –  Line Dancing

1:00 PM  –  Shannon Jackson speaks

1:15 PM  –  Beth Farnham speaks

2:00 PM – Historian & Researcher Debra Sandoe McCauslin presents Harriet Tubman and How the Underground Railroad Was Local History.

3:00 PM  –  Closing remarks by Lu Ransom Butler
