The Middleburg/Mason-Dixon Line Historical Society will meet at the State Line Ruritan Building, 15481 Park Drive, located off Route 11 at the State Line, PA Community Park.

Guest speaker is Rev. Dr. Nancy Hale, pastor at Calvary United Methodist Church in Fayetteville, PA., a licensed battlefield guide at Gettysburg, and author of a Civil War novel “Faith and Duty.”

The program will be “Union Chaplains at Gettysburg.”

Hale will offer an overview of chaplaincy in the Union army and some stories about Union chaplains at Gettysburg with their regiments.

She will present a first-person account of Ella Gibson Hobart, the only woman to serve as a chaplain during the Civil War.
