Calling all heroes, merfolk, gamers, and more to experience downtown Chambersburg at Fandom Fest on May 9, 9 AM to 4 PM. Brought to the public by the Downtown Council of Chambersburg (DBC), Fandom Fest is returning for its third year to celebrate all the things that fans enjoy–from pop culture, sci-fi, fantasy, gaming, and beyond. The event is FREE and held rain or shine.
Explore the Fairytale Grotto where you can get your picture taken by Flutterby Studios and meet Maeve the Mt. Gretna Mermaid and Candace the Mermaid! Learn the basics of Lightsaber techniques with the Central PA Jedi Sith Alliance, and perhaps hear the sirens of the Ecto-1 ringing out as the Central PA Ghostbusters keep Chambersburg safe from any ghosts from 12-4pm.
Join our cosplay guests in your finest fandom fashions to compete in the costume contests on the center stage of the Spring Street Amphitheater with prizes sponsored by the Franklin County Visitor’s Center and Warehouse Cinemas Leitersburg! With over 30 fandom-related vendors, photo ops around the festival area, food trucks, a bounce house from L&L Creations, and more; this will be the perfect outing for fans of any fandom and any age.

New for 2026, The Capitol Theatre will be hosting a FREE movie night featuring Space Jam to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the film! Doors will open at 4pm as the main festivities in the Rosedale Lot and Spring Street Amphitheatre close with a show time of 4:30! While the movie will be free to enter, the concession stand will be open to purchase all of your snack and drink needs for the film.
While most of the event will be focused in the Chambers Fort Park area of Chambersburg, Downtown Business Council encourages Fandom Fest visitors to support the amazing small businesses and restaurants along Main Street– which help to make events like Fandom Fest possible through their membership with the DBC! Attendees are encouraged to park in the Hood Street Lot, the closest lot with handicapped accessibility to the Fandom fun and the Downtown Chambersburg shopping area.
