Celebrate National Ice Cream Month on the Franklin County Ice Cream Trail this July and August. Organized by the Franklin County Dairy Promotion Committee, the trail is meant to share the many flavors and ice creameries of Franklin County–one of PA and the United States top milk producers. Representing the five main communities of Franklin County, the trail has five stops:
1. The Igloo 2395 Philadelphia Ave. Chambersburg, PA 17201
2. The Inside Scoop 227 W King St. Shippensburg, PA 17257
3. Antietam Dairy 834 S Church St. Waynesboro, PA 17268
4. Mikie’s Ice Cream and Green Cow 179 S Antrim Way Greencastle, PA 17225
5. Irwin House Ice Cream Shoppe 3 S Main St. Mercersburg, PA 17236
Every family who purchases one dairy product at an ice cream trail destination will get their ice cream trail card stamped. Once all stamps are received, participants will turn in their trail card at their last destination and receive a color changing ice cream scoop. Prizes are limited to one scoop per family. Cards and scoops are available at all ice cream destinations. Trail cards will also be available at he Franklin County Visitors Bureau.
