On September 11, 2026, a memorial service will be held in the Letterkenny Chapel, 2171 Carbaugh Avenue in Chambersburg, from 7:30 AM – 8:00 AM with the Reverend Renata Mosely Harper and Chaplain Hart serving as spiritual leaders. The chapel, built by Italian POWs during World War II, anchors the Franklin County Veterans & 9/11 Park.
Chapel tours are available and free to the public. The Franklin County Veterans & 9/11 Parks offer an opportunity for contemplative reflection. The Veterans park houses a 9/11 memorial constructed using twisted pieces of the World Trade Center steel girders and the park honors local military service and veterans of Franklin County throughout the eras of American history..
