Franklin County Visitors Bureau invites the public to a Healthy Eating Adventure Lunch & Learn on May 28, 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM with Dr. Liz George and Chef Nick Iula. Dr. George and Chef Nick have teamed up to create a book that delves into the science of plant-based eating, shares success stories of healthy eating, and provides recipes for a plant-based lifestyle. It is a conversation between a doctor and a chef to discuss a better way of eating and living. The event is held in the second-floor Great Room of the Franklin County 11/30 Visitors Center. There is no charge to attend.
Enjoy the freshness of plant-based, oil-free recipes at the Healthy Eating Adventure Lunch & Learn. Following the presentation, Dr. George and Chef Nick will be signing the Healthy Eating Adventure: The Science, Success Stories, and Recipes for a Plant-Based Lifestyle. Copies of the book will be available for sale.
Dr. George’s medical career spanned more than four decades. Throughout her career, she treated the whole person and emphasized preventing illness and keeping a healthy lifestyle. The Healthy Eating Adventure is an extension of her lifelong work. In 2010, she developed a community-based program anchored in plant-based eating and launched a 28-day plant-based eating experience.
Chef Nick worked in the food and beverage industry for more than 45 years and became involved with the Healthy Eating Adventure in 2014 when Shippensburg University hosted it. He joined the Healthy Eating Adventure and improved his health with wholefood, plant-based eating. Chef Nick transforms traditional recipes into plant-based recipes and enjoys teaching healthy cooking techniques to plant-based eaters.
