revyunThe United Churches of the Chambersburg Area and the Historic Letterkenny Chapel and Franklin County Veterans and 9/11 Memorial Park Committee will conduct the Annual Veterans Day Service on Sunday, November 8, 2015, at 3:00 p.m., at the Chapel, 2171 Carbaugh Avenue on the Letterkenny Army Depot, Chambersburg, PA.

The guest speaker will be The Reverend Chi Hyeon Yun, Pastor of the Hagerstown Korean Church. Pastor Yun and his congregation have initiated a special ministry to veterans of the Korean War as well as veterans of other conflicts. They have held social gatherings and special services to express gratitude for the sacrifices made by American troops in order that South Koreans, and North Koreans who escaped, might live in a free democratic nation.

Pastor Yun grew up in Inchon, South Korea and attended high school in Seoul. He is a graduate of Hanshhin Theological Seminary in Seoul and holds a Master of Arts in Christian Education from Union Presbyterian Seminary in Richmond, VA. He has served pastorates in Beltsville and Burtonsville, MD and Gainsville, FL before coming to Hagerstown in 2014. He is an ordained minister in the Presbyterian Church USA.

Special music will be presented by the Falling Spring Brass Choir, under the direction of David Wenerd, and the Community Chorus, under the direction of Marcel Coates.

The colors will be presented by the CASHS Naval Junior R.O.T.C. Cadets. Members of Charles Nitterhouse VFW Post 1599 will serve as the Honor Guard.

The service is open to the public. Veterans are encouraged to attend in uniform.
