This year’s Franklin County Truck Convoy for Make-A-Wish will be going through our area tomorrow around 11 a.m.

The event begins at 8 a.m. at Cumberland Valley Antique Engine & Machinery Association, 1501 Criders Church Road.

The truck convoy will head out around 11:30 a.m. and the route includes: Rt 30 East into Chambersburg from the Cumberland Valley Antique & Show grounds:

  • Follow Rt 30 past Walmart out to Rt 997 North Black Gap Rd.
  • Continue on Black Gap Rd past the former Chambersburg Mall
  • Go over I-81, down to the Greenvillage Sheetz, Turn left onto Rt 11 South, heading back into Chambersburg
  • At the square turning right onto Lincoln Way, Rt 30 West back to the Cumberland Valley Antique & Show grounds (follow Rt 30 to Crottletown Rd and return to the show grounds).

The convoy doesn’t include just trucks – there are also motorcycles as well – and there are usually about 200 participants.

Community members are encouraged to cheer the convoy along the roads.

Keep in mind, this will tie up traffic for a while, so if you’ve got places to be tomorrow, plan accordingly.

The Chambersburg Police Department, Franklin County Sheriff’s Department and Blue Knights will be escorting the convoy.

This is the 15th annual convoy in our area. The Franklin County Truck Convoy’s vision is to foster a partnership where the community and children take center stage—an event dedicated to raising funds for wish granting.

The money raised will go to granting a wish for a child facing a life-threatening illness – and all of the money will stay in Franklin County.

The kids are also allowed to ride in the trucks tomorrow.

Get ready for a great day and a great cause and do NOT miss the 15th annual Franklin County Truck Convoy for Make-A-Wish Foundation tomorrow beginning at 11:30 a.m. (Article courtesy of Tri-State Alert.)
