Join William Peck, Jr. on July 26, 3:00 pm – 4:30pm, for an historic talk, entitled The Pennsylvania Soldiers’ Orphan Schools 1864 – 2009 and Scotland School for Veterans Children 1895 – 2009. The event will be held in the Great Room of the Franklin County 11/30  Visitors Center, 15 South Main Street in Chambersburg. Doors will open at 2:30 PM.

This is a history talk on the “Pa Soldiers’ Orphan Schools 1864 – 2009” with an emphasis on Scotland School for Veterans Children 1895 – 2009.

William Peck Jr. is a lay historian of this program and a native of Chambersburg, CASHS 1977. Mr. Peck has traveled the state visiting historical societies in the counties of the Soldiers’ Orphan Schools and presenting talks on legacy to this program extends from his parents who were graduates of Scotland School in 1942 and 1950, along with multiple ancestors who attended Scotland School and other Orphan schools going back to 1899 (on both sides).
