The Shippensburg History Center, 52 West King Street, will be hosting the first ever Ordinary Night. on Saturday, June 13, 4 PM to 8 PM. Enjoy living history, the music of Forbes Road, historic games, and period beverages. In Colonial times, an ordinary was a licensed establishment that provided food, drink, and lodging for travelers and residents, often serving as a community hub. Ordinaries were crucial for social and political life, and their existence was sometimes mandated by law to support travelers on major routes. Patrons will be able to enjoy two free pours of some beers or wine that closely represents the 1776 time-period. Living history, historical demonstrations, historical music, and historical exhibits will make this a night to remember. Discover more about the Shippensburg History Center here.
