Capitol Theatre Presents Local Jam on Ocdtober 8

The Capitol Theatre is putting the spotlight on local bands with the return of our Local Jam on the Capitol Theatre stage on October 8, beginning at 7 PM. Stable Shakers will be performing a brand new show putting their own twist on Tom Waits covers and featuring Larissa Chace of The Hello Strangers who will be adding in a special take on Bob Dylan! Opening act: Lucky Punk will perform a high energy blend of rock classics, eclectic selection of cover versions plus originals! Capitol Bar will be open with beer & wine! Plus… beers from GearHouse Brewing Co. Concessions & non-alcoholic drinks will also be available!

Ticket Prices are $35 for adults. Seniors–age 60-plus–military, frontline workers are $30. Students 18 & under or w/ college ID are $25. (All tickets have a $3 processing fee.) Get tickets here.

The Franklin County Visitors Bureau (FCVB) is celebrating talent in Franklin County at A Cappella & Unplugged 2022.
After a two-year COVID hiatus, the talent of A Cappella & Unplugged returns to the stage of the Capitol Theatre on June 4, 7:00 PM.
From January through May, the Franklin County Visitors Bureau held open mics at the Franklin County 11/30 Visitors Center in Chambersburg, 633 Brewing in Waynesboro, TBC at the Barrel House in Chambersburg, and One North Coffee in Mercersburg.
In all, twenty three acts passed on from the open mic portion of A Cappella & Unplugged to Round 1 at the Capitol Theatre.
Participants are vying for a top prize of $500 and a chance to perform in front of thousands at 1864 Ransoming, Burning & Rebirth of Chambersburg on July 16th, 2022
At the June 4th A Cappella & Unplugged Round 1, a panel of judges will select the top six performers to move onto the Finals.
The audience at Round 1 will select the People’s Choice and receives $100.
From the six acts that perform on Saturday, July 16th, 7:00 PM, the audience will select the winner of $500.
A Cappella & Unplugged 2022 is the eighth musical competition.
The event began to add a musical celebration to 1864–the annual event that remembers the the historic burning of Chambersburg and the amazing rebirth of the community from the ashes of war.
It celebrates the spirit of people.

Franklin County Visitors Bureau Kicks Off A Cappella & Unplugged 2022 with Open Mic at 11/30 Visitors Center

Outdoors was cold, but inside Franklin County Visitors Bureau (FCVB) was keeping everyone warm and cozy with the first A Cappella & Unplugged Open Mic at the Franklin County 11/30 Visitors Center. The Open Mic began the eighth year of the musical competition. Held in the Great Room of the 11/30 Visitors Center, overlooking the square of Chambersburg, an audience of ninety-six enjoyed fifteen performances. All performers sang a cappella or carried instruments onstage and performed unplugged. Performers vie to win the grand prize of $500 and a chance to sing on the steps of the Franklin County Courthouse immediately before the 1864 Rebirth of Chambersburg event on July 16, 2022.

The first A Cappella & Unplugged Open Mic of 2022 passed through seven performers to Round 1. Round 1 is set for June 4 at the Capitol Theatre in downtown Chambersburg. The acts moving on in the competition are Willeby Hayes, Bekah Foster, K. Kamplain, Sullivan Shaffer, Whispering Creek Bluegrass, Mariam Mason, and Survive the Conspiracy.

FCVB invites performers to join upcoming  A Cappella & Unplugged Open Mics on February 23, 7 PM-9 PM, at 633 Brewing Co. on Walnut Street in Waynesboro and March 24, 6 PM-8 PM, at TBC Brewing on 3rd Street in Chambersburg. Two more open mics will be set in April and May.
