Starting off the evening will be the annual inauguration of Chambersburg’s Memorial Square Fountain, followed by the annual “funraiser” for Women in Need (WIN), Walk a Mile in Her Shoes. The walk will bring hundreds of men in red high heel shoes to Main Street, walking from King to Washington and back, to highlight their support of Women in Need.  The Foundry Artist Co-op, 100 South Main Street, will feature a special exhibit of members’ artwork, “Seeing Red”, with several works – three depicting red shoes! – being offered for sale to benefit WIN.

With Courthouse construction underway, First Friday events will be centered on the southwest and southeast quadrants of the Square. Activities will be centered on the SW quadrant, in front of the 11/30 Visitors Center and Central Presbyterian Church, where Noelker & Hull will have a display of several of their community architectural projects and a free craft for kids. Come in an visit the new 11/30 Visitors Center and make a butterfly craft or color a Ben Franklin coloring page. DBC will offer free face painting and a kids craft, and will have an entry box for the First Friday Prize Package, containing contributions from many downtown businesses.  Also on that quadrant will be live music by The Negley Brothers; Sweet Rollers and Pap’s Dog Stop food vendors; and young artists from DBC’s Kinder Market. The F&M (SE) quadrant will feature adult artists and a group of young artists from Shalom Christian Academy.
