ANNUAL FUNDRAISER EVENT FOR CAPITOL THEATRE CENTER

(Chambersburg, PA…) The backlot at the Capitol Theatre Center in Downtown Chambersburg, Franklin County PA is the place to be…rain or shine…on Saturday, May 6, 2023 from 1:00pm-7:00pm. Doors open at 12:30. Guests can simply chill out or get up and dance to the electrifying hard-driving blues music of Skyla Burrell Band and Kelly Bell Band…plus sip craft, specialty and domestic brews (or wine) and grab some finger lickin’ barbecue to keep their hunger at bay. Proceeds benefit Capitol Theatre Center Foundation, a 501 (c)3 organization. Capitol Theatre Center is located at 159 S. Main St., Chambersburg, Franklin County, PA. (717) 263-0202.

Kelly Kozlowski, Executive Director of the Capitol Theatre Center says, “We appreciate the ongoing support of our annual Blues, Brews & Barbecue Event here at the Capitol Theatre Center and we are delighted to have two popular bands returning for the community to enjoy! In addition, we are still seeking donations as part of our
95 Strong Fundraising Campaign to help bridge the gap between ticket sales to our events and the vast daily operating needs of this cherished community venue.”

SKYLA BURRELL BAND 1:00 – 3:30pm returns to Blues, Brews & Barbecue! Full time, hometown, hard-driving traveling blues band known for their original high energy electric blues and rock tone. The music of the Skyla Burrell Band is filled with hot licks, sweet tones, passionate vocals, and an undeniable feel good vibe. Skyla Burrell received recognition within the Blues Industry with an induction into the Blues Hall of Fame representing Pennsylvania. Between Skyla’s tremendous voice, dual blazing guitars and an amazing rhythm section…guests are sure to get up out of their chairs and dance!
KELLY BELL BAND 4:00 – 6:30pm returns to Blues, Brews & Barbecue! Blues Revue Magazine describes the Kelly Bell Band as “Among the most genre-expanding acts on today’s blues scene. Who else can combine elements of hip-hop, funk, and blues-electrified like this.” Originally formed as the back-up band for rock and roll pioneer, Bo Diddley, Kelly Bell Band has been touring the world ever since entertaining fans in Japan, Spain, Italy, Greece, Cuba, Germany and more. This prestigious band has been voted “Best Blues Band” in the Mid- Atlantic Region 12 years in a row and will no doubt have guests moving and grooving!

BBQ Delicious food will be available for purchase from: CM Pig Out Catering (Chambersburg, PA) and B&B Bar-B-Que & Catering (Waynesboro, PA).
Attendees will also be able to enjoy small games of chance.

All Blues, Brews and Barbecue event admission tickets are: $20 and include entry into the event and bands. Food, beverages and small games of chance are sold separately. Tickets are available in advance or at the door starting at 12:30pm. PURCHASE TICKETS ONLINE at thecapitoltheatre.org OR Call the Capitol Theatre Box Office at (717) 263-0202 M-F 11am – 4pm. Everyone MUST be prepared to show ID. No pets please. (Service animals only.) No coolers/containers or outside food or beverages. Guests are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs. No strollers or wagons. Rain/Shine. In case of inclement weather, bands will be moved inside to the main stage.
