The curtain is rising again at the Capitol Theatre in Downtown Chambersburg with the exciting new, upcoming 2021-2022 season! 

(Chambersburg, PA…)   The Capitol Theatre Center is looking forward to welcoming patrons back with the following fun-filled season of entertainment for all ages including live shows, concerts, 21+ outdoor events and movie events!  Local, regional and national touring performers are sure to entertain.

Beginning August 16, tickets to all events for the 2021-2022 season will go on sale to the general public online at thecapitoltheatre.org or click here: https://www.thecapitoltheatre.org/shows-movies-events/live-shows-2021/ or by calling or visiting the Box Office.  The Box Office is open Monday – Friday from 11:00 am – 4:00pm and one hour before show time unless otherwise noted.  The Box Office can be reached at (717) 263-0202 and is located at 159 S. Main St. in Downtown Chambersburg.   Discounts are available for select shows for: seniors ages 60+, students 18 yrs. and under or over 18 yrs. with a college ID; and military and frontline workers with ID.  Discounts for Groups of 10+ are also available for select shows by calling the Box Office for reservations.  Current CDC guidelines are being followed.

BLUES, BREWS & BARBECUE   Sat., Sept. 18, 2021 from 1pm-7pm (Doors Open at 12:30pm) Rain/Shine

with TWO BLUES BANDS:  TAS CRU AND JO’ BLUES  

The 21+ crowd has been supporting this popular outdoor annual fundraising event for the Capitol Theatre Center in Chambersburg, Franklin County, PA for ten years!  Guests bring their own lawn chairs and simply chill out with friends or get up and dance to the live music, sip craft specialty, domestic brews, wine or non-alcoholic beverages and grab delicious eats.  No outside coolers, food or beverages are permitted. No pets/service animals only.

Tickets: $15 all event admissions plus additional processing fees will apply.

 

SECOND HELPING: THE AMERICAN LYNYRD SKYNYRD SHOW   Sat., October 2, 2021 at 7pm

The audience can reminisce and sing-a-long with this national touring tribute showcase of the American rock band, that rose to prominence during the Southern rock boom of the 1970’s.  This night of entertainment will bring the audience back to a time of youth, fun and hope.  “These guys are the real deal. They do Skynyrd right.” — Randall Hall, Lynyrd Skynyrd Guitarist

THE ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW MOVIE EVENT Sat., October 30, 2021 at 9pm

The Halloween season is not complete for many viewers 18 yrs. and older without this interactive movie event featuring the popular 1975 musical comedy horror movie (R).  Come in costume as your favorite Rocky Horror character if you choose, and join in the Costume Parade at 9pm before the movie begins!

No food or liquid props will be permitted. Prop bags will be sold while supplies last.  See website for details.

KELLY BELL BAND   Sat., November 6, 2021 at 7pm

An upbeat night of hip-hop, funk and blues electrified! Originally formed as the back-up band for rock and roll pioneer, Bo Diddley, Kelly Bell Band from Maryland has been touring the world ever since. The band has won two prestigious Maryland Music Awards, including “Best Blues Band.” KBB has been voted “Best Blues Band” in the Mid-Atlantic Region (12 years in a row), and was recently named “Best Band” by Baltimore Style Magazine.

International award-winning Elvis Tribute Artist, David King and The Spin-Outs Tribute Band, will take the audience on a heartfelt and lively trip down memory lane.  Enjoy an evening of your favorite Elvis classics sprinkled with Christmas music.

POLAR EXPRESS PAJAMA PARTY & MOVIE Sat., Dec. 11, 2021  Party at 11am   Movie at 12pm

Come watch Polar Express on the big screen in your comfiest pajamas with friends and family this Winter! Young children and their families will enjoy the Capitol’s “Pajama Party” including a hot cocoa bar, a feature in the Polar Express movie! The 1985 Polar Express storybook made its way to the big screen in 2004 and is a classic Christmas story that has been enjoyed by young children year after year.

About the Movie: On the night of Christmas Eve, a boy is growing bitterly skeptical of the existence of Santa Claus. As he struggles to sleep, he is roused by a steam locomotive, Polar Express, bound for the North Pole. He boards the train and embarks on the journey of a lifetime as he rediscovers his belief in Santa Claus and the Christmas Spirit.  Runtime:  1 hr. 40 in.

WHITE CHRISTMAS MOVIE & HOLIDAY SOCIAL EVENT Thurs., Dec. 23, 2021

Movie Times:  3:00pm & 6:30pm with holiday social festivities between screenings.

For many, this 1954 nostalgic and classic Christmas movie event at the historic Capitol Theatre has become a holiday tradition. Patrons can stay after the 3:00 showing or come before the 6:30 showing for social mingling, festive holiday treats, adult beverages, non-alcoholic drinks and concessions.

About the Movie:  Starring Bing Crosby, Danny Kaye, Rosemary Clooney, Vera Ellen ~A successful song-and-dance team become romantically involved with a sister act and team up to save the failing Vermont inn of their former commanding general.  Runtime:  2 hours

Folks looking for their Winter bluegrass fix will find it at the Capitol Theatre with this foot-stompin’ good time when two popular bluegrass bands take the main stage, plus moonshine and more…all night long!  Remington Ryde returns to the Capitol and will headline the night!  With their ten SPBGMA Awards in Nashville TN including Entertainer of the Year…this band is sure to please!  Also taking the stage will be high energy bluegrass band, Dead Horse Revival also from the Harrisburg area will share their wealth of experience as musicians, songwriters and vocalists.

IRISH HAPPY HOUR   Fri., March 18, 2022 from 5:30pm – 8pm

with ACROSS THE POND BAND

Continue your St. Patrick’s Day celebration at our traditional Irish Happy Hour taking place in the Capitol Theatre Center’s more intimate multi-purpose space called the Wood Center!  It is recommended that tables of eight be reserved in advance to ensure admission to the event and to make sure friends can sit together.  Otherwise individual event admissions will be at the door only, as available.  Across the Pond Band returns with their liltingly authentic Irish music!  Two gifted regional Irish dancers from the Hooley School of Irish Dance in Lancaster will have anyone who chooses, up learning the jig, plus guests can savor authentic Irish food while sipping Irish specialty drinks.  The luck of the Irish will be tested with the crowd pleasing raffle.  Patrons have enjoyed this unforgettable evening year after year!

Adult Irish Specialty Drinks, Beer, Wine and Food will be at an additional cost.

As seen on American Idol 2021!  EmiSunshine is a young Americana, Country singer and songwriter from Tennessee.  Rolling Stone once named 15-year-old EmiSunshine among “10 new country artists you need to know.” Emi has been attracting national attention since the age of nine, with appearances on “The Today Show,” NBC’s “Little Big Shots,” “Pickler & Ben,” the Grand Ole Opry and elsewhere. In 2018, she was featured in the Grammy-nominated Elvis Presley documentary film “The King,” alongside Rosanne Cash, Emmylou Harris, Ashton Kutcher, Alec Baldwin and other stars.

Outdoor fundraising event for the 21+ crowd to benefit the Capitol Theatre Center featuring the wildly popular original ‘80s tribute band, The Reagan Years, food trucks, beer, wine & non-alcoholic drinks.  This is an upbeat crowd-pleasing event with dancing or just chilling out with friends.  Bring your own lawn chair.  No outside coolers, food or beverages are permitted.  No pets/service animals only.
