July 6, 2018 – Live Music Fridays: 5:30 to 8 p.m. Music Makers – 46 W. Main St., Waynesboro, PA. FRANK’n’BOB are an acoustic duo, known for stretching the boundaries of what an acoustic guitar can do. Often characterized as Piedmont blues highlighted with San Francisco improv, the genre is fingerstyle guitar (or finger picking) accented by soaring overlays. It’s all rock and roll, but one can hear anything from Ella Fitzgerald to Chet Atkins, ragtime to psychedelia, or blues to ballads at one of their performances. The skill and passion these gentlemen have for music is evident by the energy level at the venue as their show unfolds. Listeners frequently comment about the high energy level and the good feeling vibe everyone has at a FRANK’n’BOB event.

July Featured Potter at Ceramic Arts Center: Lexi Shockey. Lexi first became interested in pottery when she took an Introduction to Wheel throwing class in 2016 and has been in love with clay ever since. Her style uses a technique called slip-trailing to bring life to her work.
July Featured Artist at Gallery 35 East: Sue Downin. Gallery 35 East featured artist of the month for July is Photographer, Sue Downin. Sue began to study photography at Hagerstown Community College in 2008 and has taken all the classes offered there. Sue is also a member of the Adams County Arts Council, Franklin County Arts Alliance, Antietam Photographic Society, and Strawberry Nature Preserve (which serves as an inspiration to help her capture the beauty of nature).
July Visiting Artist at Gallery 35 East: Linda Barnhart. Linda only began seriously painting in 2005 following encouragement from her daughter. Previously a self-taught artist, her daughter began tutoring her while she taught a university studio course, she has continued to master her craft seeking instruction from fellow Gallery 35 artist, Marjorie Tressler’s classes. While her first love is oil paint, she enjoys mixing in other mediums such as acrylic and encaustic. Her work will be on display July 6th-14th.
July Featured Artist at 42 West Arts: Jean Frey. 42 West Arts featured guest artist of the month for July is Jean Frey. Jean works primarily in oil paint and pastel, but also enjoys sketching and draws in charcoal, pen, and ink. Her painting subjects are everyday scenes and objects that she hopes to give viewers a new light to admire them in. A reception is planned for July 13th from 5:30-8pm with light refreshments, snacks, wine, and music from Earthsong Ensemble.
July All Artists’ Show at 42 West Arts: A Splash of Color. All of the members of 42 West Arts will showcase pieces in this show. The show will include all related art in various forms from Donna Bingaman, Denny Bingaman, Jennifer Caldwell, Pamela Nelson, Ed Beard, And Smetzer, Pat Beard, and Steve Semiatin.
