Blind Date with a Book Program returns for the month of February.  Not sure what you are in the mood for?  Take a chance and bring home a mystery date.  Popular books with a variety of themes are wrapped to hide their identity.  You choose a book and unwrap it when you get home.  You also have the chance to win a small prize.  Come to the library for details about this fun program.

February is Feed the Birds Month.  You can help feathered friends find food during difficult months of winter.  February 16 – 19 is the Great Backyard Bird Count.  Spend just 15 minutes and you can add to the worldwide understanding of bird behavior.  For more information visit our display at the library or see www.birdcount.org.

Thursday, February 1st, is Grove Family Library’s 18th Anniversary.  We are celebrating the week of February 5thEnjoy some tasty treats and special events throughout the week.  Thank you for your patronage.  We love having you drop in for books, programs, computer use, help, or whatever you need.  You are always welcome at your library.

Monday, February 5, at 2 pm:  Gold Star Recognition. You are invited to join us for a Gold Star Celebration.  Your library will be recognized for being one of the first libraries in Pennsylvania for achieving the Gold Star, and maintaining it for 7 consecutive years.  The PA Forward Library Program has five literacies:   Basic, Information, Civic and Social, Health, and Financial.  We offer programming which incorporates these literacies throughout the year.  We hope you will plan to be present for recognition of your library’s accomplishments.

Wednesday, February 7, from 9 am – 1 pm:  Send a Card to a Friend Day.  Make a card or choose a store-bought card. Then take it home and send it to a friend!  All supplies (paper, punches, stamping stuff, store-bought cards, and envelopes) will be provided.

Thursday, February 8, from 9 am – 2:00 pm:  Game Day.  Come and play games with us!  Card games, board games, and a “giant game” will be available.  Bring a favorite game of yours or play one of ours.  We will also have refreshments to offer.

Thursday, February 8, from 2 – 4:30 pm:  Second Thursday Movie Afternoon – “Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny”.  Archaeologist Indiana Jones races against time to retrieve a legendary artifact that can change the course of history.  Awesome action sequences, sinister archaeologists, and mysterious artifacts!  This film is a fabulous end for an amazing series.

Stars Harrison Ford, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, and Antonio Banderas.  Rated PG-13.  Light refreshments offered.

Tuesday, February 27, from 6 – 8 pm:  Terrific Tuesday Theater – “Trolls Band Together”.  Poppy discovers that Branch was once part of the boy band ‘BroZone’ with his brothers, Floyd, John Dory, Spruce, and Clay.  When Floyd is kidnapped, Branch and Poppy embark on a journey to reunite his two other brothers and rescue Floyd.  Stars Anna Kendrick, Justin Timberlake, and Kenan Thompson.  Join us for this adorable family friendly film.  Amusing characters show the importance of love and friendship.  It is delightful.  Light refreshments offered.

February 26 – Bring an instrument and join the fun or just come to hear the bluegrass, old-time, Celtic, Cajun, and fiddle tunes.  All skill levels are welcome.  Light refreshments are offered.

Tuesdays, February 20 – Cookbook club meets on the third Tuesday of each month. Each month will have a special theme. Prepare a dish of your choice and bring it, along with your recipe, to share with friends! Beverages, plates, and cutlery are supplied.  All are welcome! February’s Theme – Pennsylvania Dutch Recipes.   Please RSVP by calling or signing up at the library.

Thursdays, February 22 – Gather with fellow writers for an opportunity to network, share, and learn from one another.  Writers of all backgrounds are welcome to attend – published, unpublished, poetry, fiction, or non-fiction.  Come connect with other like-minded hive members as we talk all things writing!  Laura Zimmerman will lead the discussion.  She published her first book in 2019 and currently has 5 books in print.
