Congratulations to downtown Waynesboro’s Rough Edges Brewing, for winning a Cumberland Valley Business Alliance Property Improvement Award. Rough Edges owners Casey and Wes Phebus  invested more than $50,000 into the property in 2022. Rough Edges received funding through Mainstreet Waynesboro’s downtown façade grant program, sponsored by PA Department of Community and Economic Development.

Rough Edges is housed in a Civil War era building that from 1932 to 2012 was the Waynesboro News Agency. Casey and Wes Phebus remember the property when they were growing up. Both love their hometown, in 2020, they paired their passion for Waynesboro with their passion for brewing and opened Rough Edges. Their original renovations revealed an original tin ceiling, and they used the wood from a bowling alley that was housed in the back to make tables in the brew pub area. The most recent renovations brought the neon Waynesboro New Agency indoors to the taproom, so the history remains as Rough Edges moves forward and makes its own history in downtown Waynesboro.
