The United Churches of the Chambersburg Area will sponsor this year’s Annual Christmas Eve Service at the Historic Letterkenny Chapel on Saturday, December 24, 2016 at 6 pm at the Chapel, located at the Letterkenny Army Depot, 2171 Carbaugh Avenue, Chambersburg.The service will be patterned after the traditional Christmas Eve services held from 1960-1995 when the Chapel served its congregation as a military chapel. Special music for the service will be provided by John Brink.
The speaker will be the Rev. Ray L. Kauffman, Retired United Methodist Minister, who has served as Pastor of St. John’s United Methodist Church and Chaplain of the Franklin County Prison Ministry and the Fruitbelt Farmworker Christian Ministry. He has also served on the Letterkenny Chapel Committee of the United Churches of the Chambersburg Area. He and his wife Georgia are the parents of two daughters and have three grandchildren.
The United Churches of the Chambersburg Area oversees the ministries of the Letterkenny Chapel in conjunction with the Franklin County Veterans and 9/11 Memorial Park.
