The Franklin County Visitors Bureau invites the community to the America250PA Liberty Tree Planting in Franklin County PA at the Chambers Fort Park, off North Main Street, in downtown Chambersburg at 4 PM on Tuesday, October 17. During the American Revolutionary War, the Sons of Liberty gathered together under historic trees, called Liberty Trees. The trees became symbols of American freedom.  Patriots, throughout the 13 colonies, starting designating Liberty Trees, so America250PA is planting Liberty Trees throughout the Commonwealth

Generously sponsored by and in partnership with the Pennsylvania Freemasons, America250PA’s Liberty Tree Project includes a certified Liberty Tree planted in each of Pennsylvania’s 67 counties. Franklin County is the second county to have this historic tree placed.
