The Middleburg/Mason-Dixon Line Historical Society Monthly Meeting

The Middleburg/Mason-Dixon Line Historical Society will meet at the State Line Ruritan Building, 15481 Park Drive, located off Route 11 at the State Line, PA Community Park.
Guest speaker is Scott Mingus, Sr. from York, PA.
Mr. Mingus is a retired scientist and executive in the global pulp and paper industry and an author of Civil War and Underground Railroad books and articles.
The program will be “When Lincoln’s Funeral Train Passed Through Franklin County.”
In April 1865, the funeral train carrying the coffin of President Abraham Lincoln passed through the commonwealth of PA on its way to New York and Cleveland.
Massive numbers of residents watched the train steam past their farms, communities, and towns.
Mr. Mingus will share rare personal diary and journal entries, newsmen’s accounts, and overviews of the locomotives, crewmen, railroads used, timetables, and other interesting aspects.
